Liquids Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) in Hand Held Luggage

All liquids aerosols and gels (LAGs) shall be handled as follows:

  • All LAG’s shall be carried in containers with a capacity not greater than 100ml each (or the equivalent in other volumetric measurements, e.g. Fluid ounces);
  • Any LAGs carried in a container larger than 100ml are not to be accepted even if the container is only part – filled; though empty containers with a capacity greater than 100 ml are permitted.
  • Containers with LAGs should be placed in a transparent re-seal able bag of a maximum capacity not exceeding 1 litre. The indicative size of the 1 Litre bag is:20.5 cm x 20.5 cm or 25 cm x 15 cm or equivalent. The containers must fit comfortably within the transparent plastic bag, which should be completely closed.

  • Each passenger is permitted to carry only one such bag, which is to be presented separately for screening.
    The following are some of the examples:
    • Water and other drinks
    • Syrups
    • Creams, Lotions and Oils
    • Perfumes and Sprays
    • Gels including hair and shower gels
    • Pressurized containers such as shaving foam and deodorants
    • Pastes including, Vaseline and eye shadow
    • Other items with similar consistency
  • The following items are allowed in hand luggage:
    • Medicine needed during the flight
    • Baby food needed during the flight

You may buy any liquids beyond the security check points including the Duty Free Items or in-flight. Items purchased must be packed in security tamper evident bags and accompanied by proof of purchase upon presenting them at the security check point.
